SPACE City Panel surveys focus on important issues affecting residents of the Houston area. The information collected helps evaluate local services and programs, identify community needs, and guide decision-makers in planning and supporting the Houston community.

The surveys are developed and conducted through a partnership between The Center for Public Policy at the University of Houston Hobby School of Public Affairs and NORC at the University of Chicago.

The surveys are designed for researchers, government agencies, businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders who want to better understand and improve communities in the Houston area. These groups may contribute questions to the surveys to gather insights that support their work.

Only the research teams at NORC and the Center for Public Policy at the Hobby School will have access to the full survey data. Other organizations may receive summary results or anonymized survey responses, but no personally identifiable data (PII) will be shared unless you give explicit permission.

As the nation’s fourth-largest city, Houston offers a unique perspective into how people respond to today’s most pressing issues. SPACE City Panel delivers timely, reliable data to inform policymakers, organizations, business leaders and the public – helping strengthen Houston-area communities.

You’ll receive an email invitation with a link to the SPACE City Panel survey. Each survey remains open for about two weeks. If you click the link and see a message that the survey is closed, it means the survey response window has ended. But don’t worry – more surveys are upcoming! We’ll also send reminders to make sure your voice is heard.

After you complete the survey, you’ll receive the reward you selected.

• If you choose Amazon or Walmart eGift Card, or a virtual Mastercard® Reward Card, it will be sent to the email address you provide.
• If you select a physical Mastercard® Reward Card, it will be mailed to your provided mailing address.

Your privacy is a top priority. Only the research teams at NORC and the Center for Public Policy at the Hobby School have access to your personal contact information. We take every step to protect your data. Your responses are used only for statistical purposes, and we will never share your personally identifiable information (PII) without your permission. We will not sell your contact information or use it to market products or services to you.
